CellContentSettlement.com/faq.html is where you can find answers to questions related to the Mobile Cell Content Class Action Settlement. The case is between Williams v. Motricity, Inc.
The lawsuit is under the jurisdiction of Circuit Court of Cook Country, Illinois and pertains to the claims of wireless subscribers that the Defendants charged them for Mobile Content that was sent to their wireless telephones without their authorization. Mobile content in question include ring tones, horoscopes, information alerts, news, and other types of digital electronic media.
To avoid the uncertainties of litigation and to avoid further expenses, both the Plaintiffs and the Defendant agreed to a Settlement. Under the Settlement agreement, Defendants promised to comply with consumer protection laws and to other applicable federal and state laws. Defendants also agreed to give cash refunds and/or cash awards to the Settlement Class.
Class Members are required to submit a Claim Form with related information if they want to avail of the cash benefits provided in the Settlement. Deadline for submission of the Claim Form was January 31, 2011 and has therefore expired at the time of this writing. The deadlines for submitting requests for exclusion and objection have also expired.
