HartfordMedPaySettlement.com is the official website for the Hartford Class Action Insurance Settlement. The case was given the title Madison v. Hartford Insurance Company of the Midwest, Case No. 00-L-720.
The Class Action lawsuit was filed in Court for the alleged failure of Hartford Insurance Company (Hartford Midwest) to properly pay healthcare providers the right amount due to them as payment for services rendered to persons insured under Hartford Midwest and for equipment used to treat the particular insurance holder. The lawsuit claimed that Hartford Midwest improperly reduced the payments due to the insured persons and to the healthcare providers treating them.
Hartford Midwest denied any liability and wrongdoing but has agreed to settle the lawsuit through a Settlement.
If you are an insured individual under Hartford Midwest and received medical or any forms of healthcare treatment or equipment subject under a Medical Bill submitted under the medical insurance coverage policy of Hartford and whose payments were reduced because of an improper computation or Disputed Reduction, you are covered by the Settlement agreement. You are also covered by the Settlement if you are a healthcare provider who received reduced payments for the Medical Bill you submitted to Hartford for the medical or any other healthcare services you provided and for equipment you used for an injured person that is insured under Hartford between January 1, 1990 and the date of preliminary approval of the Settlement.
